School is in Session

Did you know that in south India, school is a year round gig?

Why, do I bring this up?

Well if your children are anything like mine, you send them off toA Trichy school project benefiting 1,000 kids. school under the assumption that they’re going to get a decent education, eat an acceptable lunch (provided we packed it or they remembered their lunch money) and that they can easily get a drink of water from the drinking fountain whenever they need it.

Unfortunately in many of the places I visit within southern India the children aren’t as lucky as our kids here in America.

School in India is a wonderful place to receive an education and at every school I visit, I continually encourage the kids to do their best, apply themselves to their studies and get the most out of their education.  The real reason however for my visit isn’t to bring a motivating message but to bring them something more critical than the desire to earn good grades; it’s to bring them safe water to drink.

What amazes me most about each of these schools is how they have managed to survive for so long and yet the reality is that  it hasn’t been without cost.  After hearing about the difficulties faced, the starkness of the situation becomes evident and I become gripped with the thought that these kids, here in this place, are just as important and deserving as mine back home.

Imagine for a moment, a school without a sufficient amount of drinking water.  You say it doesn’t exist; I say it does!  I have seen it with my own eyes and touched hundreds, if not thousands of outstretched hands thanking me for the gift of life.

The fact that water doesn’t flow freely in rural India is a harsh reality and yet there is something we can do about it.  When you get involved through your donations, no matter how big or small it may be, you are changing the course of life and for that I am extremely grateful.

Despite our current and even past accomplishments, even now as I write, I have schools with hundreds and even thousands of children who lack safe drinking water.  I need you and your desire to make a difference in this world to do just that by giving to Wells for Life® by clicking here.
