Pavarti, my friend with the cow is passing.

December 15th, 2009

It is truly with a heavy heart and tear filled eyes that I pass along news of my new friend in India for which I told you about needed a cow just 6 short weeks ago after meeting with her and learning of her suffering with Aids.  At the time I met with her she hadn’t eaten in several weeks and the medicines were not helping.  I just received an email from India informing me that she, Pavarti, lapsed into a coma 2 days back and she has been moved outside of the home to a spot on the ground so that she may die.

I truly hate death as it robs us of life and yet I am at peace with her passing because I know she will be with Jesus.  I also believe that Pavarti is at peace with death because she knows she is going to be with Jesus and free from the pain from the terrible disease we call Aids.  More over I know she is at peace because her beautiful young daughter will be well taken care of at either New Life Children’s Home or Light of Love Children’s Home.

Despite the sadness and the mourning that occurs because of death, I do long for the joy that comes in the morning and thankfully Jesus does give us a morning to look forward too.

My final prayer for Pavarti in her final hours is that she would sense the presence of the Father, His son, and the Holy Spirit as she lays outside subjected to the elements in her coma and that He take her quickly and that the time of her suffering would cease – amen.
