This past Spring I shared about the dream a group of people from Kansas and California had about starting a new orphanage in Andhra Pradesh which would one day provide a safe place for 500 orphan and semi-orphan children to call home. A place where they would eat a decent meal, have a free education and experience love from others like many of them have never felt before.

That dream became a reality on August 30, 2007 as the doors to New Life Children's Home opened about 15 miles from Tuni. Thanks in part to the generosity of the VanZomeren and Waal families from California, they provided the capital necessary to start the project, New Life Children’s Home opened its doors not to 50 children as originally planned but 117!

In addition to these two families providing the necessary capital to secure the rented facility for the next 2 years, (which happens to be a hotel that has everything we need to feed, house and teach up to 150 children and 20 acres of useable land complete with mango trees) Westside Family Church in Lenexa KS has generously raised $160,000 towards the purchase of permanent property which hopefully will be secured within a short time.
