Raising Awareness
Wells for Life® as a nonprofit organization relies heavily on the generosity of others to fulfill its mission. We are always looking for volunteers to help raise awareness and funds. Anyone can help. Some previous projects have included individuals, businesses, and school age children.
Within a school setting, Wells for Life® has taken part in a variety of events which have ranged from walk-a-thons and jog-a-thons to achievement scores on state testing. Businesses have started corporate matching programs, and individuals have organized various sports tournaments and runs. Regardless of the method used the results are all the same – changed lives.
One of the most practical ways you can raise awareness and funds at the same time personally or within a group of friends, at your school or through your church is to take the H2O Challenge. Wells for Life® has partnered up with The H2O Project to bring you this very simple and effective way of helping us fulfill our mission of bringing clean, safe drinking water to rural India. Basically, the H2O Challenge is where you make water your only beverage for two weeks, then contribute the proceeds of that sacrifice to Wells for Life®. You’ll find a variety of materials for facilitating that challenge on their website at www.theh2oproject.org. Just make sure that you tell them you are raising funds for Wells for Life® when you sign up so that they can route the money raised through your efforts to us and not another water organization.
Regardless of how you want to get involved, the main thing is that you are choosing to do something. Whether it is taking the H2O Challenge, organizing an event at your school or getting our name added to your company’s matching gift program; it all plays a huge part in allowing us to fulfill our mission; so thanks for your help!
